The conical tower at Great Zimbabwe, standing about 10 metres tall, captures attention with its striking shape and complex stonework — one of the finest examples of dry-stone masonry in the world. Unique for its possible dual role as both a ceremonial site and a royal granary, the tower not only symbolises power and prestige but also offers fascinating insights into the social organisation of a once-thriving empire, making it an essential highlight of one of Africa's most significant archaeological sites.

Shona Village

Adjacent to the ruins is the Shona Village, a vibrant cultural installation designed as a living museum. It immerses visitors in traditional Shona life, featuring authentic hut architecture, music and dance.

Gonarezhou National Park

Zimbabwe's second-largest park, Gonarezhou is renowned as the 'Place of Elephants' and for its Chilojo Cliffs. It forms a key part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area with South Africa and Mozambique.

Chilojo Cliffs

The Chilojo Cliffs, in Gonarezhou National Park, are striking red sandstone formations stretching nearly 30 kilometres along the Runde River. Rising sharply from the valley floor, their red-and-white banded layers glow dramatically at sunrise and sunset — one of the country's most iconic natural landmarks.
